What we are building
The complete interior door, trim and specialty millwork package for this house — supplied and installed by our own crews. Below is the current scope as walked on site. The full written specification is on the specification page.
Cedar ceiling beamsFour 8×8 in the great room, one in the master wrapping the LVL, two 6×6 in the study — all smooth cedar faux box beams.
Cedar dining ceilingBox-up tongue-&-groove in cedar, with cove crown running the inside perimeter.
BHP door hardwareLevers, stops and pulls across the house, on solid-core 1-panel shaker doors. Finish selectable at no charge.
Mitered casing & 1×6 baseMitered 1×4 casing at every door and window, with 1×6 baseboard throughout.
Auto-shade window surroundsSix bedroom windows jambed out with a raised apron forming a concealed channel for the shades.
Changed at the walks
- The board-&-batten design wall and the foyer beams have come out; two study beams go in at the same price.
- The dining ceiling moved from Douglas fir to cedar, so it now matches the beams.
- Shelving was rebuilt to what was measured — 16″ at the master closet and every linen, including a five-stack in the master bath, and 12″ in the bedrooms.
- Barn doors are on hold, and the baseboard stays 1×6 as in the original bid.
- A fireplace mantel was added, along with an attic access door.
- The kitchen-to-pantry opening is cased, as in the original bid; the other three openings and the patio slider are left untrimmed.
Two things still to settle. Whether the regular windows take the mitered picture frame specified at the trim walk or a stool and apron only; and whether the cove crown stays in the dining and foyer. Both are priced and waiting on your direction.
